North Ferriby to entertain Hull City Under 23s in pre season.

Thursday 27th of May 2021

North Ferriby will take on Hull City Under 23s for the Billy Bly Trophy as part of the Villagers preparation for the 2020-21 season in the NCEL Division One. The game will be the third of the club’s a pre -season games and will be at the Dransfield Stadium on Tuesday 13th July with a 7 p.m. kick off with Ferriby the current holders having won 2-1 back in 2019.

Chris Bolder’s side open their pre-season with a trip to NCEL Premier Division neighbours Barton Town on Tuesday 6th July with a 7.30. pm kick off. Northern Premier League Division One Pickering Town will then visit the Dransfield on Saturday 10th July with the game kicking off at 3 p.m.

“It is fantastic we have been able to reignite the Billy Bly Trophy against Hull City, a game which is synonymous between both clubs,” said Bolder.

“The game comes in the middle of a tough pre-season schedule we have set ourselves against teams from a higher league especially two away games at Barton Town and Grimsby Borough. They are difficult teams to play against which is what we want.

“We have three home games as part of the schedule but we will be ready for the challenges ahead as we start our own pre-season training in mid June. The squad is looking good and we have spoken to all of last years squad and they are happy with were we as a club want to be although I am not going to rule out one or two additions to the squad if we can.”

Ferriby will finish their pre-season preparations with games against three NCEL Premier Division sides in Knaresborough Town, Grimsby Borough and Albion Sports. Knaresborough take on Ferriby on Saturday 17th July at the Dransfield at 3 p.m, while Grimsby Borough is away on Wednesday 21st July at 7.30 pm before Albion Sports are at the Dransfield on Saturday 24th with a 2 pm kick off.

The league season for the Villagers will start on 31st July but with fixtures yet to be released by the Northern Counties Management Committee. There have been changes to the league with Winterton Rangers, Skegness Town and Emley have all been promoted to the higher division or in Skegness’s case to a new league. The league will consist of 21 teams with the inclusion of Ollerton, Clipstone, Rainworth Miners, Shirebrook Town and Teversal.
