Next friendly this Wednesday v Grimsby Town
Monday 18th of July 2022
North Ferriby will face Grimsby Town on Wednesday night as they continue their preseason campaign. This will be the penultimate friendly before the Villagers begin their debut campaign in the NCEL Premier division against Emley on the 30th of July.
The Villagers are four games into their preseason and came away from Grimsby Borough with a hard fought 2-2 draw against the side from the league above. The previous three games had seen the villagers fall to defeats against Selby, Hull City and Bridlington Town.
Throughout these games, Ferriby have given all members of the squad good game time to prepare them for the upcoming season.
The Villagers will be facing a strong Grimsby side with first team manager Paul Hurst expected to take charge of the side at the Dransfield stadium. It will be a tough test for Chris Bolder’s side against the new League 2 outfit. The Mariners returned to the football league through the National League play offs and beat Solihull Moors in the final.
North Ferriby manager Chris Bolder summed up his thoughts ahead of the game, “We are really looking forward to the game against Grimsby, it will be a really tough task against another full-time side. It will give us an opportunity to work on our shape and defensive discipline as we would expect them to have the majority of the ball. They will be exceptionally fit and therefore will give us another game where the lads will have to cover a lot of ground, so perfect for us continuing to build our match fitness levels. We will have to be brave in possession too and avoid giving the ball back to them so we will be looking to implement our patterns of play where possible”.
