North Ferriby VS Guisborough Town

North Ferriby Football Club produced a brilliant comeback from two goals down to secure all three points against Guisborough Town, on an entertaining afternoon at the Versa Sportswear Stadium.

The Villagers began the game cautiously, with both sides sharing possession and struggling to create any clear-cut chances in the opening stages.

However, it was the visitors who eventually broke the deadlock as some neat play down the right-hand side resulted in Matthew Wilshaw tapping home into an open goal.

Things only got worse for Ferriby as Guisborough doubled their advantage just six minutes later, with Sam Collins carefully slotting home following a one-on-one opportunity.

The visitors almost made it three shortly afterwards, but Jonathan Dash produced a good save to deny Wilshaw.

North Ferriby gradually began to grow into the game and, despite struggling to create opportunities, found a route back into the contest through Olly Green, who produced some sharp footwork before finding the back of the net following a cross from Will Sutton.

The Villagers were level just six minutes later as Ify Ofoegbu delivered a brilliant cross from the right-hand side, which was met by the head of Jake Day.

Ferriby carried their momentum into the second half and completed their comeback just ten minutes after the restart, as Joe Wood converted from close range following a set piece.

The hosts continued to dominate possession and created several opportunities to extend their advantage, with Wood, Green and Ofoegbu all going close.

Despite a late flurry of attacks from the visitors, North Ferriby held firm to secure a brilliant three points, completing an impressive turnaround from two goals down to claim a 3-2 victory.
