North Ferriby VS
Silsden AFC
North Ferriby saw the points shared at the Versa Sportswear Stadium following a two-all draw against Silsden AFC in the Northern Premier Leage East Division.
Josh Dennett secured his third goal in two games since his return to East Yorkshire, but two second half goals from the visiting Silsden saw the Villagers settle for a draw.
Ferriby were straight in the ascendancy with the game underway. Josh Dennett tested the visiting defence with multiple rockets into the eighteen-yard area, the later of which saw Josh Thacker's strike on goal palmed out for a corner.
Skipper, Niall Tilsey came closest to opening the scoring fifteen minutes in. Josh Dennett once again launched a long throw deep into the eighteen-yard area, finding the head of the Ferriby skipper, ultimately forcing a fine save from Thomas brown.
Ferriby weren't to hold out much longer as Josh Dennett latched on to the end of a Josh Whiteley free kick to hand the Villagers the lead in the twenty-third minute.
Despite seeing Jack Johnson replace James Williamson early doors, Ferriby remained in control of the tie, heading into the break a goal to the good.
Out for a new half of football and despite a steady opening salvo, Ferriby were two goals to the good, ten minutes into the half. After seeing the ball launched deep inside Silsden's eighteen-yard area, a mix up between defence and keeper saw the ball home for an own goal.
Ferriby can count themselves unlucky, a flurry of opportunity came and went for the home side. Josh Thackers effort from six yards somehow evaded the goal before Josh Whiteley's indirect free kick rattled the woodwork before being cleared.
With Ferriby remaining ever dangerous at one end, Silden began their own press on goal and pulled a goal back with eight minutes remaining thanks to Jake Cassidy. And six minutes later, they were level.
With six minutes presented in added time, it was game on for the Villagers as they went in search of a third. And deep into those six, it proved a case of 'oh so near". Josh Dennett once again launched the ball deep into the area, and Thomas Brown somehow kept the ball out of the net.
