Ashington FC VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby saw a late goal to see their unbeaten leaguestreak extend to nine games following a one-all draw at Woodhorn Lane against Ashington AFC.

North Ferriby return to the East Riding of Yorkshire after Charlie Clements we’ll taken goal secured a point after a potentially game altering moment early in the second half.

The opening moments saw the Villagers look to take an early advantage as Myron Gibbons twice imposed himself inside the final third, the Ashington defence doing well to see off the winger.

Approaching twenty minutes and Ferriby saw the best opportunity of tie tie yet; out on the left flank, Jack Walters’ delivery in to centre found Lewis Dennison who perhaps should have done better than his off target header.

A spell of back and forth football ensued, Ferriby with a smattering of attacking set pieces whilst the hosts broke fifteen from time only to see their strike slime the woodwork and out.

The opening moments of the second forty-four be saw a potentially game changing moment as Louis Kirk was brandished a straight red card for an off ball altercation.

Despite the sending off, the Villagers continued to showcase some good football, however, ten minutes in to the half, Ashington broke and saw Josh Gilchrist open the scoring.

Once again a spell of back and forth football ensued, yet a change in personnel from Chris Bolder looked to settle the Ferriby ship.

On the hour, Charlie Clements looked for a moment of magic as he spun away from his mark; his strike toward goal however, slightly under par.

Approaching the final ten, Charlie Clements again found himself  able to break free from his mark, this time though his strike found its mark, levelling the tie for the Villagers.

Late on, another attacking free kick came the Villagers way. Elliott Walker stepped to the plate once more, this time coming extremely close to winning it as Ashingtons keeper got his fingertips to it
