Match Report

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby Football Club toppled the league leaders to extend their unbeaten league form to six following a fine display at the Horsfall Stadium.

Josh Whiteley secured the key moment of the tie as the Villagers continued their rich vein of defensive form, claiming their eighth clean sheet of the campaign.

The Villager began in high spirits and were soon in the ascendancy and up for a proper game. Dennison, Walker and Aynsley all took sight of the hosting defence inside of the opening ten.

Josh Whiteley saw the best opportunity of the tie after fifteen minutes, steering the ball toward goal inside the eighteen yard area only to see a goal-line clearance deny him.

The hosts enjoyed a short passage midway through the halfand looked to turn the tie, but Ferriby’s togetherness and guile soon took hold to turn them away.

Battling well, the Villagers continued to probe but were yet to convert, heading in to the break on terms with the league leaders.

It was a new half of football but Ferriby took off from where they left the first period. Tillo and Whiteley reignited the charge as they looked to claim a result at the Horsfall.

Defensively, the Villagers remained diligent as they held Park Avenue at arms length. The Villagers kept plugging and edged closer to breaking the deadlock.

Josh Whiteley could have got us on the scoresheet, thirteen from time after collecting in ample space inside the eighteen yard area but was unable to see his strike ripple the net.

Ferriby waited and waited, and finally their moment came with nine minutes remaining. A defensive mistake from the Bradford back line saw Josh Whiteley break free to tuck the ball home.

Closing in on the full time whistle, the Villagers togetherness and hard work persisted, culminating a fantastic performance and a huge three points on the road.
