North Ferriby
North Ferriby found their return to winning ways at the Office Interiors Stadium as they defeated Silsden by threegoals to nil in the Northern Premier League East Division.
Josh Whiteley and Lewis Dennison were on target as the Villagers claimed their second away victory of the campaign.
Ferriby’s ascension in the game began early through Whiteley after an explosive drive down the left flank saw Sam Aynsleynarrowly beaten to his cross by the hosts keeper.
A smattering of set pieces saw the Villagers continue their search for the opening goal yet the Silsden defence held firm.
Two quick opportunities soon fell to Josh Whiteley, where his aim was slightly off initially, his second attempt punished Silsden as he rifled the ball into the net.
Ferriby’s control continued as they appealed for a spot kick soon after the half hour mark, but were waved away by the match officials.
Entering the final minutes of the half, Silsden looked to find a leveller yet the Ferriby defence proved too effective In their endeavours.
A new half dawned, Ferriby’s ascension continued as they found further success down the wing, this time through Sam Aynsley.
Silsden searched for a response only to be turned away in the final third. However the half would belong to the Villagers.
Shortly before the hour, Ferriby doubled their lead. After winning a free kick out to the right of the eighteen yard area, the ball found its way to the back post, Tillo nodded down, Dennison tapped home.
Two became three with twenty minute left of normal time. Lewis Dennison and Josh Whiteley caused trouble out on the left once more ultimately seeing the ball turned in by the Silsden defence.
From then, it was inevitable. Game management and claim the clean sheet and the Villagers obliged to claim their second away win of the campaign.
