North Ferriby’s FA Trophy campaign came to an end following a two-nil defeat at the Mounting Systems Stadium.
An arguable opening goal and sending off in the second halfadded to the Villagers exit of the FA Trophy.
Underway at the Mounting Systems Stadium, the opening half developed into something of a war of attrition with little clear cut chances.
Ferriby won a handful of free kicks in the opposition half, that resulted in a drive in to the eighteen yard area but it wasn’t to be for the Villagers.
Some good possessional play came for both the Villager forcing a smattering of errors and bookable offences. The only real chance of the half came at the death, but was wide of the mark.
It was a new half and Ferriby’s defensive duties were called in to action as Ben Bottomley showcased a fine goalkeeping display early on.
Ferriby then searched for an opening goal as the drovethrough josh Whitley, winning further set pieces but were denied by the hosts defence.
With the game teetering, it all changed as the Seasiders were awarded a arguable penalty that was ultimately converted to see the hosts ahead.
Ferriby continued their pursuit of a goal, Jack Johnson lead what was the best transition but was deemed offside.
Josh Whiteley looked to take it up a gear after driving almost half the pitch length, however his effort was denied.
The game then got worse for the Villagers as what appeared to be a yellow card challenge, saw Myron Gibbons receive red following the events that transpired after.
Out of nothing, the Seasiders doubled their lead in the eighth-ninety minute which ultimately saw the tie out as the Seasiders advanced.
