Match Report
Brighouse Town VS
North Ferriby
North Ferriby secured their maiden league victory of the campaign as they defeated Brighouse Town at the Heffernan Utilities Stadium.
Seeing the hard work put in across the opening two fixture, the Villagers continued in a similar fashion in West Yorkshire, Jack Walters, Luke Hogg and Elliott Walker all in amongst it.
The best opportunity of the game fell to the Villagers midway through the half, after seeing a dangerous free kick seemingly gone, Tillo rose and played it back to an opening Jack Walters who fired narrowly wide.
The Ferriby charge continued as Elliott Walker stepped up for another dangerous set piece, however, the deadlock remained unbroken.
Ferriby finally claimed the goal they were craving, after Elliott Walkers deflected strike from the edge of the area found the back of the net.
The tie became somewhat lively in the final minutes as Dom Roma saw an arguable red card for hand ball. Curtis Peters also saw red minutes later, seeing the game as10 v 10 at the break.
It was a new half and Ferriby looked to double their lead inside the opening five minutes after a solid strike trickled narrowly wide.
The hosts searched for a equalising goal in the minutes that followed, but the Villagers hard work and solid defensive prowess prevailed.
Having weathered the storm, Ferriby settled and reset. A productive and united Ferriby soon returned as they pressed for a second.
The Villagers patience paid dividends ten minutes from time following a fantastic passage of play. Lewis Dennison beats the Brighouse defence, rounds the keeper and tapped home.
Dennison was in the magic soon after, almost making it three, his strike however, slightly off target and out of play.
The fantastic work continued to the death and a Ferriby third eventually came two minutes from time as Sam Aynsley broke down the Brighouse defence, squaring it to an encroaching Dennison to tap home.
