Defeat on home soil became a thing of the past, as the Villagers return to the Dransfield Stadium began their hunt for a nineth home league victory of the campaign, with one of THE performances of the season. 

As expected, an entertaining fixture ensued that saw Tom Corner score the only goal of the game to see the villagers return to fourth place and a point behind Belper.

A relatively uneventful opening ensued with both XI's probing for a way through, and it wasn’t until fifteen minutes in that we saw the opening opportunity as Emley saw a ranged effort off target.

Ferriby began to produce some silky football through Kirk, Ceesay and Corner, eventually taking to the scoresheet as Tom Corner capped of a fine Ferriby manoeuvre.

Ferriby’s ascendancy continued, and they could have doubled their lead moments after scoring. Luke Hogg joined the action narrowly missing a goal scoring opportunity to Declan Lambton.

Emley offered a spell of pressure toward the end of the half prior to another fine Ferriby manoeuvre in the later stages.

It was a new half of football and Emley failed to convert a prime opportunity within the opening minutes. Kieron Ceesay came to life shortly after, seeing a strong shot deflected and cleared.

Both teams saw dangerous free kicks deflected and clears either side of the hour and the Villagers saw another good Alex Flett cross go amiss soon after.

From then, the villagers did offer some moment going forward, but it was ultimately a case of game and time management, which Ferriby obliged.
