Having seen their unbeaten run fall last time out, Ferriby’s return to the Dransfield began their hunt for a nineth home league victory of the campaign, but Chris Bolder’s villagers were handed a second straight home defeat.

Opening opportunities fell Ferriby’s way, a claimed corner kick by Shea Callister the closest the Villagers came to an opener.

Brighouse themselves had early opportunities after failing to convert a corner and free kick inside the opening fifteen minutes.

Inevitably, Brighouse found themselves ahead half an hour in after catching the villagers off guard and Matthew Tootle tucked the ball in to the bottom left corner.

A couple of late chances for Sam Aynsley and Niall Tilsleycame for the Villagers but weren’t to be converted as they went into the break behind.

It was a new half and an attempt to shuffle the pack came in a double half time change, and to Ferriby’s credit they came out searching and saw a penalty claim waved off after five minutes.

Some better football from Ferriby continued as a Danny East free kick took a deflection on its way to being claimed by Shea Callister.

The tie soon quietened, and Brighouse crept in with a few opportunities to double their lead but to no avail.

Both Daniel Hernandez and Danny East saw soft efforts denied, before Louis Kirk almost salvaged a point two minutes from time.

Ferriby though they had salvaged a point two minutes in to added time but were denied the goal after the match officials stopped play in the build-up. Free kick Brighouse.

Seeing the potential advantage elsewhere, the Villagers remain in fourth place in the league standings and now turn their attentions to an important midweek affair at the Dransfield against Emley AFC.
