Match Report

North Ferriby VS Stocksbridge Park Steels

In search of an eighth game unbeaten, the Villagers decent form come to an end following a one-nil defeat to Stocksbridge at the Dransfield Stadium.

A dogged display saw the villager undone by a scrappy Park Steels goal in a game that they never really got going in.

Early endeavours were relatively quite until Stockbridge were awarded the lead much to the dismay of the villagers defence.

The Villagers searched for a response, however, Stocksbridge came to the Dransfield with a purpose, to play the ball around with some attractive football.

Ferriby showed a little promise late in the half, but were let down by their final product.

A new half and despite a productive response from the Villagers, a comfortable display from the visitors ensued.

Ben Bottomley once again produced another fine display of goal keeping on the hour.

With change afoot, ferriby continuously pushed for an equaliser that wasn’t materialised, and fifteen from time our visitors saw a penalty missed after hitting the woodwork.

Pressing into added time it was now or never for the Villagers as Ben Bottomley pressed up for a late flurry of corner kicks, and he almost saved the villagers after seeing a headed effort denied by a fantastic save.

Starting XI: Ben Bottomley, Sam Aynsley (Josh Morrall 67’), Jack Walters (Adam Porritt 59’), Louis Kirk, Niall Tilsley ©, Dom Roma, Danny East, Joel Shortland, Tom Corner, Lewis Dennison (Jaedyn Chibanga 59’), Kieron Ceesay (Mason Johnson 80’).
