Match Report

Belper Town VS North Ferriby

The Villagers navigated their way back to three points following a hard fought victory at the Raygar Stadium.

Tom Corner cited the games only goal of the game but it was the villagers defensive prowess that prevailed.

With the game underway it was the Nailers that took the advantage producing a selection with no final product.

Having seen the tie settled, the villagers saw an audacious effort to take the lead after twenty when Tom Corner spearhead a ferriby counter and an attempted lob dropped narrowly wide.

Approaching the final moments and the villagers this time, found the lead after Tom Corner latched on to a delightful cross in from the right.

It was a new half but a more attritional affair ensued seeing little opportunity present itself.

As the half wore on, the nailers desire on on goal became more prominent, however, some heroic defending from the villagers prevailed.

Thirteen from time and Belper offered the villagers a warning shot after seeing a thunderous strike rattle the outer edge of the woodwork.

With the narrow lead still intact, tensions began to rise, especially with five minutes added time announced. Yet, Ferriby’s resilience proved paramount.
