Dunston VS North Ferriby

The Villagers claimed a second straight Northern Premier League East Division Victory, also claiming their first victory in the North-East at the UTS Stadium.

A close affair paved way to a solid second half performance from the Villagers as Mason Johnson started in overturning an early deficit.

With the game underway, a cautious approach ensued with little opportunity presenting itself for either side.

Midway through the half and the games first real opportunity fell to the villagers after Levi Tarbotton worked the ball extremely well, firing across the face of goal.

Moments later, Ferriby could well have been ahead after a Cadman free kick in from the right eventuality found Jack Walters who rattled the post.

The hosts soon began to apply the pressure as the half approached it’s conclusion, and inevitably Dunston were ahead, nodding home from a decent ball in from the left.

It was a new half, but more of the same ensued. Dunston’s pressure seemingly continued through the opening minutes but Ferriby soon settled through a slight tweak.

Josh Thacker and Mason Johnson entered the fray and what an inspired change they’d prove to be, and a mere six minutes later, the villagers were level through Mason Johnson.

Five minutes would go by before Ferriby’s super sub would strike again and what a lovely goal it was, seeing the ball float over his shoulder to take it on the volley and in off the post.

Enter the final ten and despite the tensions of a slender lead and the hosts late endeavours on Ferriby’s back line, Chris Bolder’s men would see out a fantastic victory in the North-East.
