Match Report

Bridlington Town VS North Ferriby

The Villagers saw a victorious return to their Northern Premier League East Division with a comfortable visit to the Mounting Systems Stadium.

With Lewis Dennison returning against his old club, it was Josh Whiteley starred a scored in a delightful afternoon on the east coast, claiming a brace in a three-nil victory on the road.

As has been the way with the villagers this season, Chris Bolder’s side took to the game well with James Cadman claiming an early opportunity for the visitors.

The hosts themselves could have taken the lead if it weren’t for a stellar Ferriby defensive line, but the villagers gradually began to make their mark on the game.

Josh Whiteley continued to take charge down the right flank, but it wasn’t until midway through the half that the deadlock was broken. A deflected Lewis Dennison free kick fell to the feet of Levi Tarbotton to slot home.

The goal further boosted the visiting villagers, and the lead they’d claimed midway through the half would soon extend. A superb Josh Whiteley brace inside the final minutes saw Chris Bolder’s side in to the breach comfortable.

It was a new half but more of the same as the villagers continued their hold on the tie, however little opportunity presented, the only real chance of note change from the hosts on the hour.

The hosts were handed an opportunity to cut the deficit with fifteen to go after been given a dangerous free kick twenty-five yards out. The resulting strike rattled the post and was cleared away.

With the minutes ticking along , we entered added time when Lewis Dennison had a prime opportunity to kill the game, however, his headed effort dropped narrowly wide.
