Match Report

North Ferriby VS Newcastle Blue Star

The Villagers FA Cup dream came crumbling down following another tale of two halves at the Dransfield Stadium.

Chris Bolder’s side seemingly had one foot in a qualifying tie with Hallam FC however a lacklustre second forty-five saw them dumped out.

As with recent fixtures, the villagers started well and had the ball in the net inside of two minute but were pulled back for a foul on the opposition keeper.

Cadman and Dennison continued the early push for the villagers, both seeing strong efforts go amiss.

The villagers did eventually get the ball rolling after James Cadman played in Lewis Dennison on twenty minutes to see the home side ahead.

The resurgent home side continued their domination of the opening forty-five seeing Cadman, Dennison and Johnson all come close.

Despite a spell of late pressure from the away side, Chris Bolder’s side fired themselves into a two-goal lead on the stroke of half time, Mason Johnson bagging his first goal of the season.

It was a new half but a different story, Blue Star took to the new half much the better, whilst Ferriby had seemingly eased of the gas.

With only five minutes of the new half gone, the villagers lead was halved after been caught on the break.

Two-one became two-two on the hour after what can only be described as a top tier strike from the away side.

Th villagers offered some composure thereafter, and with opportunity coming in small waves, a winning goal never materialized inside of ninety minutes.

Into extra time we went and with the villagers still a little on the ropes remained in the tie until half-time of extra-time. With fifteen left, a third and fourth goals came for the away team as did tiring legs.
