Newcastle Blue Star VS North Ferriby
The Villagers saw their FA Cup dream extended to a Tuesday night replay at The Dransfield Stadium after a one-all draw in the North East.
Josh Whiteley starred and scored one more as two penalties and a red card saw the villagers cup dreams left on a knife edge.
In similar fashion to their midweek affair, Chris Bolder’s men started the game brightly with James Cadmen and Tom Corner see early opportunities go amiss.
Despite seeing the host side gain a few clear cut chances, the villagers remained in contention and controlled the game well as they headed in to the break on terms with Blue Star.
Where the first half ended, the second began and the villagers were given an opportunity to take the lead after five minutes of the restart. Josh Whiteley stepped up and converted for his second of the season.
Town Corner and Lewis Dennison off there the visiting villagers further opportunity midway through the half but it was the hosts who looked like they were to end the game the stronger.
Mason Johnson, Josh Thacker and Jason Chanayire offered fresh legs to the Villagers as Blue Star continued their quest to salvage something from the tie.
Inevitably, Blue Star were awarded a spot kick of their own ten minutes from time. However, the under par spot kick was palmed away by Ben Bottomley to keep the villagers ahead.
Ten minutes from time, Lewis Dennison was handed an early showers following a second Yellow card for kicking the ball away.
Subsequently, Blue Star were eventually able to make the extra man count after being awarded a second spot kick in the ninetieth minute.with the tie ending level, we now go to a Tuesday night replay at the Dransfield.
