Match Report

Bradford (Park Avenue) FC VS North Ferriby

The villagers Northern Premier League East Divisioncampaign opened with a narrow one-nil defeat away at Bradford Park Avenue.

Chris Bolder’s side created opportunities in abundance yet it was the hosts that proved clinical on the day to claim the three points.

Josh Whiteley and James Cadmean saw the better opportunities on goal in the opening minutes whilst an early stoppage saw Lewis Dennison receive treatment following a heavy challenge.

Bradford Park Avenue saw their first opportunity shortly before the half hour mark whilst the villagers continued to apply pressure through Tom Corner and Sam Aynsley.

The villages saw their best chance yet shortly after the restart after James Camden picked the pocket of the BPA defence only to see the strike trickle agonisingly wide.

Following all the good football, it was the hosts that broke the deadlock before the hour after catching the villagers on the break to find the back of the net.

The villagers continued to march the hosts on the day and Ben Bottomley produced a brace of high calibre saves midway through the second period to keep the villagers in it.

Despite persistent efforts, an equaliser never materialised for Chris Bolder’s side who succumbed to the full time whistle and a narrow one-nil defeat. However, plenty of positives can be taken from the afternoon away in Bradford.
