Match Report

North Ferriby VS Sheffield FC

North Ferriby FC wrapped up their home league campaign with a 1-0 victory over Sheffield FC. A second half strike from Amir Berchil enough to claim all three points. The Villagers looked the more threatening through the first half and created a few chances. Josh Whiteley’s head was inches away from meeting a well delivered Danny Earl cross. A good save from goalkeeper Tom Jackson kept the visitors at bay as he saved well from a free kick. Jack Johnson defended well with a header off the line to deny the visitors. Whiteley came close to opening the scoring but a clearance off the line denied the Ferriby attacker. Tom Corner was close to opening the scoring but a good save from Sheffield keeper Edd Hall denied the Ferriby striker. Tom Jackson was called on again to deny the visitors as he saved at point blank range. The deadlock was broken by Amir Berchil. The tricky winger found himself behind the Sheffield backline and cut inside before hitting a low shot into the bottom corner. The Villagers defended well and managed to secure the three points and cement themselves a top ten finish. The Villagers now host league rivals Bridlington in the East Riding Cup final at the Dransfield on Tuesday night. The Villagers will end their league campaign up in the North East at Ashington.
