Match Report

Newton Aycliffe VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby FC suffered defeat in their last outing before Christmas. Chris Bolder’s side were defeated 1-0 at Newton Aycliffe. A second half strike from Kyle Davis securing three points for the hosts.

Bolder’s side can count themselves unlucky to leave the North East empty handed.

The Villagers dominated the first half and created plenty of chances. Josh Whiteley found space behind the Newton Aycliffe defence and saw his effort saved onto the post by Nathan Fisher.

Josh Dennett had a great opportunity to open the scoring. Tom Corner played a brilliant ball go Levi Tarbotton down the right hand side. Tarbotton found Dennett who saw his point-blank shot saved by Fisher.

The Villagers continued the second half looking to open the scoring. Harry Wallis hit a low effort that was held by Fisher.

The hosts would be the side that opened the scoring. Kyle Davis hitting a hard-hit strike past Tom Jackson.

The Villagers looked for an equaliser and came close through Amir Berchil. The substitute found space and hit just wide from a tight angle.

The Villagers came agonisingly close at the death. Tom Corner hitting an effort just over.

It wasn’t to be for the Villagers who created plenty of chances. Bolder’s side will have the opportunity to bounce back as they host Bridlington Town on Boxing Day.
