Match Report

North Ferriby VS Grantham Town

North Ferriby FC move into the play off positions with a 4-2 victory over Grantham on Tuesday night.

The Villagers blew their Lincolnshire opponents aside with an impressive first half performance, which saw Chris Bolder’s side head into the interval 3-0 up.

The Villagers took the lead through Tom Corner. Danny East played in a perfect free kick. Tom Corner was the recipient and headed the ball across goal. After a mini scramble with no player able to control the ball, Corner was on hand to fire home.

The Villagers would go onto double their lead. The Grantham defence didn’t deal with a cross into the box and the ball fell to Josh Dennett. Dennett hit a shot across goal which bounced off the post and over the line.

Dennett would grab a second before the break. Good play between Tom Corner and McCauley Snelgrove allowed Snelgrove to advance into the area. Snelgrove was challenged in the area, but the ball fell back to Corner. Corner found Dennett in space inside the area, and he fired into the roof of the net.

The visitors gave themselves a chance of a comeback when Luke Hinsley fired in at the near post.

The Villagers would regain their three goal advantage and made it 4-1 through Josh Whiteley. The tireless forward was on hand to head into the goal after Grantham failed to clear after good Ferriby pressure.

Chris Salt would add a second for Grantham as he headed past Jordan Douglas.
