North Ferriby FC saw off Dunston UTS in an entertaining game up in the North East. With all the goals coming in a pulsating second half. Chris Bolder was able to name an unchanged side from last Saturday’s victory over Atherton.
The first half was cagey as both sides looked to find a way through each other. The deadlock would be broken just minutes into the second half. Dunston found space down the Ferriby right. The Dunston winger was able to pull the ball back to captain Michael Pearson who fired in. The Villagers responded quickly. Danny East hit a free kick into the area. The ball was headed down inside the area and hit a Dunston hand. Referee Matthew Morton awarded a penalty to the Villagers. Up stepped Danny East who fired high and central beating Graeme Pickering.
The hosts would regain their lead when they again found joy down the Ferriby right. A ball came from that side into the area and found Dunston attacker Jack Maskell. Maskell had time to fire past Exall from close range. Minutes later, Ferriby keeper Lewis Exall made a great save to keep the deficit at just one.
The Villagers would level with a beautiful counter attack. Harry Wallis was played into space inside the Dunston half. Wallis found Tom Corner who quickly played a ball out to the left and to Josh Dennett. Dennett was able to advance on the Dunston goal and hit a ball across the goal. Harry Wallis was at hand to make sure the ball ended up in the goal. The Villagers would seal their impressive victory through Josh Dennett. Amir Berchil did wonders down the left hand side and was patient as he waiting for the play to develop. Berchil hit a cross field ball to Dennett, who beat the offside trap. Dennett found himself one on one with Pickering, and rounded the Dunston stopper and slotted home.
