Match Report

Stockton Town VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby FC suffered their first away league defeat as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at Stockton.

The Villagers started bright and created a couple of early chances. Good play down both flanks was followed by a Josh Dennett cross which found Tom Corner. Corner saw his header just drift over.

Josh Dennett caused problems with a quick throw in. Dennett found Josh Whiteley who chested down to Nick Hutton. Hutton saw his strike go wide.

The hosts took the lead when a cross from the right-hand side found Michael Sweet who headed in from close range.

The Villagers had a great chance to level just before the break. Josh Whiteley found himself in space inside the area as he received a ball fizzed across the area. Whiteley was unable to hit the target.

The Villagers saw an appeal for a penalty turned town in the second half as referee Sam Parnaby ruled the ball did not hit a Stockton defender in the hand, despite the protests from the Villagers.

The hosts would double their lead when Michael Roberts found space behind the Ferriby backline after he was played through. Lewis Exall came out to deny the Stockton attacker, but he was able to take the ball round Exall and into the Ferriby goal.

The game’s dying seconds Stockton would add a third. Glen Butterworth firing in from range and beating Exall.

North Ferriby: Exall, Dennett, Tilsley, Johnson, Tarbotton, East (Sanyang), Wallis (Snelgrove), Earl, Hutton, Whiteley, Corner (Green)
