Match Report
North Ferriby VS Ossett United
North Ferriby 2-1 Ossett United
Nick Hutton’s second half debut goal was the difference as North Ferriby FC progressed into the next round of the FA Trophy.
Chris Bolder gave debuts to Hutton, who joins the club from Scarborough, and former Hull City midfielder Harry Wallis. Oli Donald put the Villagers in front in the first half. Danny Emerton’s well delivered cross from a corner found Donald was on hand to head past Ossett goalkeeper Joseph Green.
The visitors would level the scores in the second half. A corner was delivered into the Ferriby box and Paddy Miller headed past Tom Jackson.
Hutton would be the man of the moment as he scored the winner. Danny Emerton’s cross was not handled well by Green, allowing Hutton to stoop a header into a half empty net. The Villagers had plenty of chances to add a third before the end. Omar Sanyang came close on numerous opportunities, Joseph Green making several saves to deny the Ferriby winger. Danny Earl also came close on a couple of occasions. In the end the Villagers saw out the game and progressed to the second qualifying round. Bolder’s side will take on last week’s FA Cup opponents Prescot Cables.
Chris Bolder offered his thoughts after the game, “I thought the lads did well, we produced a decent performance, in particular I loved what we did in the first 25 minutes. We lost our way a little bit after that but on another day, we had enough chances to win the game by a bigger margin”.
