Hallam VS
North Ferriby
North Ferriby FC fell to their first defeat since October as they were defeated 2-1 at Hallam.
Chris Bolder’s side still sit six points ahead of Winterton, with a crunch clash against their nearest title rivals at the weekend.
Chris Bolder made three changes from the win over Yorkshire Amateur at the weekend. In came Danny Earl, Louis Kirk, and Danny Clarke.
The hosts took the lead when the Villagers failed to deal with a free kick into the area and Nicolantonio Degrolamo was on hand to put the ball past Lewis Exall.
The Villagers would level when Hallam couldn’t deal with a long throw in from Josh Dennett. Oli Donald beat Hugo Warhurst to the ball. The hosts were given a perfect opportunity to get themselves back in front. T’Nique Fishley felled Liam Royles in the area. Lewis Exall would not be beaten as he dived low saving Oli Fearon’s penalty.
The hosts would retake the lead. The Villagers again didn’t deal with a free kick and Brad Kerr put the ball past Exall.
The Villagers had some corners and free kicks towards the end of the game but couldn’t make any deliveries count.
North Ferriby boss Chris Bolder shared his thoughts after the game, “we are hugely disappointed, we can’t fault the lads application and effort at what is a difficult place to come. We knew it wasn’t going to be a game of football tonight so we had to adjust the way we play and ultimately it’s come down to moments in both penalty boxes. We can reflect and say we didn’t defend ours well enough and at the other end we haven’t capitalised on the ball being in there penalty box enough.”
