North Ferriby VS
Swallownest
North Ferriby 2 Swallownest 0
North Ferriby continued their unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory over Swallownest at the Dransfield Stadium on Tuesday night. This was a rearranged game from earlier in the season when there was an unfortunate floodlight failure with twelve minutes to go and Ferriby ironically leading 2-0.
This game also saw a debut for striker Brody Robertson who signed this week from Cleethorpes Town and who had an immediate impact. This win sees Ferriby fourth in the table but still eight points behind leaders Winterton Rangers.
It didn’t take long for Robertson to make his mark when a superb run through by Gary Bradshaw who laid the ball across for Robertson. All he had to do, and did, was to tap it into the net for a 1-0 lead as the home side hit the ground running.
After this chances were limited in front of goal the best going to Louis Kirk who fired just wide and maybe should have done better. It remained 1-0 going in at the break before Ferriby came out for the second half to try and see off this game.
Robertson was again involved when he raced through on goal but his touch proved to be too heavy leaving the keeper to collect. The second goal then came from good play by Danny Emerton whose fierce cross into the box ricocheted off a defender and the goalkeeper and into the net.
It should have been 3-0 when Robertson was denied when he cut through only for him to be dubiously called back for offside. The latter stages saw Ferriby’s Tom Corner and Louis Kirk booked with Swallownest’s Luke Beedham being sent off.
