Preview Report:

North Ferriby VS Sheffield FC

North Ferriby FC wrap up their home league campaign with the visit of Sheffield FC on Saturday.

The Villagers will be looking to wrap up a top ten finish in their first year in the Northern Premier League Division One East. Chris Bolder’s side had also been in the play off picture up until this past midweek.

The Villagers will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Ossett. Bolder’s side fell to an Alex Peterson volley. Bolder saw his side create plenty of chances but not capitalise on these. Chris Bolder gave his thoughts on the game, “the first half performance was unacceptable. We understand players have ups and downs in terms of decision making but what really disappointed us was the mannerisms and work ethic. We had a stern word at half time and second half we showed more fight and created an abundance of goal scoring opportunities”.

When North Ferriby met Shefield back in November it was an entertaining affair. The Villagers looked to have the three points wrapped up when leading 4-2 in the dying moments of the game. Two late Sheffield goals meant the two sides shared the points. Sheffield come into the game off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Pontefract last Saturday.

Bolder spoke about how he would like his side to finish the season, “we want to finish the season strong. We’re determined to put in good performances and win three games of football that we’ve got left. I’m sure the lads will reflect on the first half performance at Ossett and will be chomping at the bit to put that right and finish the season strongly”.
