Preview Report:

Knaresborough Town VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby FC travel to Knaresborough on Saturday looking to consolidate their place at the top of the table. The Villagers got themselves back on track with an impressive performance and result at Barton on Tuesday. Chris Bolder’s side left the South Bank of the Humber with a 2-0 victory. The Villagers had been on a run of two defeats before Tuesday, but a determined performance was just what was needed. The win at Barton opened a six-point gap between the Villagers and second place Winterton. Winterton played on Wednesday and drew with Maltby Main, meaning the gap sits at five before this weekend’s fixtures.

When asked about his side’s performance at Barton, Chris Bolder said, “It was great to bounce back with a strong performance against a tough Barton side. The manner of the victory was particularly pleasing given our previous showing against Winterton. We showed outstanding desire and togetherness just when we needed it. A special mention to our amazing fans who really got right behind the lads too”.

Chris Bolder hopes that this can be a catalyst for his side for the remaining eight games, “hopefully this is the start of another positive run of results for us starting with a difficult trip to Knaresborough”.

Knaresborough currently sit in tenth place, last time out they drew 2-2 with Barton. It was an impressive second half comeback, coming from two goals down to earn a point. The North Yorkshire side will be looking to end their run of five games without a victory.

Chris Bolder previewed the match up, “They are a team that have shown this season they are capable of great results so we will have to approach the game in the same way we did Tuesday. We do have a few injury concerns but hopefully we can recover in time and pick another strong squad”.
