Preview Report:
North Ferriby VS
Hall Road Rangers
EAST RIDING SENIOR CUP
North Ferriby Fc take a break from the league as they welcome Hall Road Rangers to the Dransfield in the East Riding Senior Cup.
This will be the first time the Villagers take part in the competition since 2020. The last game Chris Bolder’s side played before the suspension of football due to the Covid 19 pandemic was a semi-final victory over Hull United.
The Villagers come into the game top of the league table. A 4-2 win over Handsworth last time out means Bolder’s side sit five points clear of second place Emley. When asked about the game at the weekend, Bolder said, “I am super proud of the lads, second half performances have been questioned at home, I thought we were absolutely outstanding in the second half, we defended exceptionally well, our work ethic, or shape was tremendous”.
The opponents of the Villagers are entering a new era. After finishing tenth in the NCEL division one table last season, Hall Road resigned from the league. In their games against the Villagers last season, Hall Road remained unbeaten, drawing at Haworth Park, and then defeating the Villagers at the Dransfield. Hall Road are now managed by Chris Burke after Leon Sewell left the club last week.
The game will give Chris Bolder the chance to give players who haven’t had many opportunities recently playing time.
