Preview Report:

North Ferriby VS Swallownest

North Ferriby FC take on Swallownest at the Dransfield stadium, looking to build on their big win over Harrogate Railway last weekend. The Villagers beat the leagues in form side 3-1 which helped end a dip in form. The manner of the victory is what pleased Chris Bolder. His side dug in during the second half and frustrated Harrogate. When asked to sum up his thoughts Bolder said, “we struggled in the first half with their style of play. We were clinical in the first half and you could say we rode our luck as we were exposed a few times by them. At half time we spoke about the tactical jobs needed in the second half and the players implemented that tremendously. We completely nullified them and showed we can be a threat on the counter”.

In Swallownest, Ferriby take on a side currently in the leagues relegation zone. They do have games in hand on their rivals at the foot of the table. Swallownest had a week off last week. Last time out they drew 1-1 with Ollerton. The Villagers beat Swallownest when the two sides last met. It was an entertaining affair with Ferriby coming out on top with a 3-2 win. The visitors have won just one game in there last nine games. But as Chris Bolder is aware, there are no easy games in this league, “we have seen that whoever we play we need to not take any notice of the league position or of any form. Teams come to us and play like they have nothing to lose”.

The Villagers will be with Liam Nelthorpe who is still recovering from a knee injury. Tom Corner will be 50/50 as he still recovers from an injury picked up against Retford. Joel Shortland is making good progress in his return but may still need a few weeks. Harvey Carew has left the club to move to Sweden.
