Glasshoughton Welfare VS North Ferriby

After a great 3-0 win over DronfieldTown on Saturday, North Ferriby make the midweek trip on Tuesday night to Glasshoughton Welfare. The Villagers did travel last season before the season was expunged and came away after a 1-0 defeat.

Manager Chris Bolder knows what the pitches at some grounds are like so it is sometimes a case of grinding out a result. Due to the fixtures coming thick and fast there are bound to be changes against a team placed 17that the moment without a league win in their three games so far.

“We went to Glasshoughton last season and found out how difficult it is on another challenging pitch,” said Bolder.

“It’s going to be tough as we’ve seen that in the two away games we’ve played so far we’ve been okay. What we have got to make sure is we assert our dominance from start to finish. I am pleased with some aspects but in other aspects we will have a hard look at ourselves.” 

Bolder goes into the game in West Yorkshire with a good squad at his disposal and he will need them as this frantic opening period continues. This game will be a challenge but ahead of next Saturday’s home game in the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round at home to Northwich Victoria.

Bolder added: “We will look at things and will probably have some changes for Glasshoughton as it’s tough to keep all of the boys happy. It’s already evident we need all these lads as Easty (Danny East) serves the last of his three game ban.

“We have to have lads who have come in there and take the team forward which we have and can do the job for us. Liam Nelthorpe has picked up an injury and Kirky (Louis Kirk) came off on Saturday with a tight hamstring.

“Leigh Hutchinson finally got some competitive minutes after his injury so we will see how he comes through after the Dronfield game. He had a fantastic pre-season before he picked up his injury but we know what he can give us when he is fit.”
