Swallownest VS
North Ferriby
Villagers Travel to Swallownest
North Ferriby face Swallownest on Saturday as focus returns to the league after midweek events.
The Villagers were indebted to Luke Lofts scoring two of the four goals in midweek in the East Riding Senior Cup semi final victory over Humber Premier team Hull United.
Ferriby’s undefeated run now stretches back to the end of November in all competitions, and manager Chris Bolder will be keen to build on the victory last weekend against Hall Road Rangers. He spoke about the trip to Swallownest on Tuesday night after the semi final win: “They’re all tough away from home, especially on the pitches that we play on. They’re not getting any better at this moment in time so we’ve got to learn to be able to deal with that, make no excuses and learn to adapt to the pitches to make sure we go away and get the result”.
Bolder will be sweating on the return of in form forward Brody Robertson after he suffered heavy treatment at the hands of some Hull United players in the semi final. He was taken off at half time as a precaution but will hopefully be in contention.
Swallownest haven’t won in 6 games, and will be desperate to put that right. Their 3-1 win away at Campion in January is a stark reminder that any team on their day in NCEL 1 can beat anyone, and The Villagers will travel to Sheffield with a positive attitude to try extend their unbeaten run and maintain their promotion push.
Kick off is 3pm at Swallownest Miners Welfare, Rotherham Road in Sheffield.
