It is North Ferriby FC's last home game of the year on Saturday as they host Rossington Main at the Dransfield Stadium.

The Villagers officially completed their first away game for almost two months last weekend. Ferriby beat ten-man Selby Town emphatically 5-0 in their NCEL Division One clash. Tom Corner and captain and centre-half James Piercy bagged a brace each, whilst Danny Emerton also netted from the penalty-spot.

"For us to come to their backyard and score five without reply is impressive," said manager Chris Bolder after the victory.

Emerton was forced to deputise at left-back in the absence of Laurence McKay and Bolder gave high praise to the out-of-position winger.

"We had a chat with Danny about what we were going to do with him. Danny is a very, very good player, he's got a great footballing brain, and he's the type of player I could play pretty much anywhere on the pitch.

"I know what I'm going to get from him. He's got a fantastic attitude, great ability, and he produced a top performance in an unfamiliar position.

"They're all tough," stated Bolder ahead of tomorrow's fixture. "There are no easy games whatsoever. We're going to have to work extremely hard and be disciplined out of possession in order to get the victory."

The visitors from Doncaster claimed their first league win since September on Saturday. Niall Doran and Darryl Winter got the goals in The Colliery's 2-0 win at home to Parkgate.

Doran has a tally of eight over all competitions this season and is Rossington's top scorer. The aforementioned Corner has netted the most for the Villagers with a total of fourteen.

The club, now managed by Ben Hunter, are mainstays of the division. They joined in 1991 and have not left since, with seventh-place their best finish in 2011/12.

Rossington can also lay claim to having scored in all their fixtures in all competitions barring one this season- the opening day 1-0 defeat to Retford back in August.

Chris Bolder stressed his delight at the "tremendous" and "pleasing defensive performance" last time out, and there is no denying that the Ferriby defence will have to be at their best again if they want to claim their ninth clean sheet of the season on Saturday.

Kick-off for the last action of 2019 at Grange Lane is 3pm. Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for concessions (over 65s and under 18s) and under 12s get in for free.
