Preview Report:

North Ferriby VS Lower Breck FC

North Ferriby v Lower Breck Preview

North Ferriby are back in action on Saturday when they entertain Lower Breck in the Buildbase FA Vase Second Round. However, like all sporting games at this level the game will be played behind closed doors due to the current pandemic restrictions.

The last time the Villagers kicked a ball in anger was their last round game at Wythenshawe Town to make it through to this stage. It was the class of goalkeeper Jordan Douglas who efforts in the penalty shoot out took Ferriby through 5-4 after the game finished 2-2 after extra time.

Manager Chris Bolder has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of the game so will have selection decisions of the positive kind. The opposition are another North West team with the Villagers having already seen off St Helens Town and Northwich Victoria but Saturday for Bolder’s side is going to be very different.

“It’s going to be very different for us and possibly a strange atmosphere as we are used to playing in front of a fantastic fan base of very vocal fans,” said Bolder.

“There has been a significant amount of time when we have not been playing competitively and we go into this game with only one proper training session. We know we will come up against a decent footballing side as you usually do with teams from over there.

“We know very little about them apart from the fact they have played four and won four so far this season but we will match them as before we stopped playing we were in good form. But, like anything else, we will have to be at the top of our game to make it through.”

Lower Breck hail from Liverpool in the shadow of Anfield and play their football in the North West Counties League Division One North. They are top of their respective league, the same one as St Helens Town who Ferriby knocked out in their first game in this competition this season.

Bolder goes into this game with a fully fit squad with the lay off helping in the recovery of hamstring injuries picked up by Louis Kirk and Danny East. Defender Jason Mycoe is also training again having picked up a facial injury picked up in pre season game against Albion Sports.

Fans are reminded the game is behind closed doors so there will be no admittance to the ground and this will be in place for the foreseeable future. The Northern Counties East League has suspended all fixtures until at least January 2021 with Ferriby currently in fourth place in Division One.
