Preview Report:

Campion VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby face a stern test of their Northern Counties East League title credentials when they travel to league leaders Campion. The Bradford based side are top of the table with seven wins from seven games played and have rattled in 24 goals so far.

In midweek Ferriby beat Nostell Miners Welfare 2-1 but should have won by a greater margin with the chances created. The Villagers breezed through the first half before they let Nostell come at them in the second half before securing the win.

Manager Chris Bolder knows the importance of the Campion game in what is their first away game since their 3-2 win at Glasshoughton on 6th October. The Nostell game saw Ferriby create plenty of goal scoring opportunities but which they failed to convert.

“Like I alluded to on Saturday we took the three points, got another win and it keeps us in touch with the leaders,” said Bolder.

“We played some exceptional stuff on Saturday in our control of the first 45 minutes but the second half was so frustrating. Creating so many chances in the first half but only scoring two goals was disappointing and on Saturday we have to be on it for the full 90 minutes.

“Campion is going to be completely different as they are playing well and it isn’t going to be a pleasant surface for us to play on. They are decent at home and they score goals but we will be going there with nothing on our minds but getting the three points.”

Ferriby are currently fourth in the table five points behind the league leaders but have played the same amount of games. After this Ferriby have a tough local derby back at the Dransfield on Tuesday night when Winterton Rangers are the visitors.
